Play Test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Any readers of this blog will know that I have been working on a set of WWII skirmish rueles for over two years. \u00a0I ran another game this weekend to test out the rules. \u00a0I had intended to test out a new system for morale, but after just a few turns it was clear that the new system was no better than the old one, and the players didn&#8217;t like to have to do math (two additions and a subtraction), so I went back to the original system.<\/p>\n<p>I had been toying with changing one aspect of the rules, and after Saturday&#8217;s game, I decide to pull the trigger on the change. \u00a0I have been keeping up with counting grenades and rifle grenades for units in the game. \u00a0One of the results when shooting is &#8220;out of ammunition.&#8221; \u00a0I am going to change this so that when an &#8220;out of ammunition&#8221; result is drawn on the cards that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For small arms, the weapon is out of ammunition, jammed, or something. \u00a0This can be reloaded, &#8220;cleared,&#8221; or whatever with one action in a subsequent turn.<\/li>\n<li>For anti-tank guns or tank guns,\u00a0the weapon is out of ammunition, jammed, or something. \u00a0This can be reloaded, &#8220;cleared,&#8221; or whatever with one action in a subsequent turn.<\/li>\n<li>For shoulder-fired anti-tank weapons, hand grenades, rifle grenades, flame throwers, etc. the squad has run out of that munition or weapon. \u00a0This cannot be corrected during a game. \u00a0The squad has no more hand grenades, for instance.<\/li>\n<li>For single-shot weapons, like panzerfausts, the round was a dud or misfired. \u00a0Since this is a one-shot weapon, it cannot be fired again during the game.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That required a change to the unit record sheet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4306\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4306\" style=\"width: 481px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4306\" title=\"GAMER_record_sheet_revised v2\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v2.png\" alt=\"Old version of unit record sheet\" width=\"481\" height=\"577\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v2.png 481w, https:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v2-250x300.png 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 481px) 100vw, 481px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4306\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Old version of unit record sheet<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Now the game master just puts a check in the &#8220;yes&#8221; box if the squad begins the game with that type of weapon and checks the &#8220;no&#8221; box otherwise.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4307\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4307\" style=\"width: 482px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4307\" title=\"GAMER_record_sheet_revised v3\" src=\"http:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v3.png\" alt=\"New version of unit record sheet\" width=\"482\" height=\"578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v3.png 482w, https:\/\/bucksurdu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/GAMER_record_sheet_revised-v3-250x300.png 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 482px) 100vw, 482px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4307\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New version of unit record sheet<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class='shareinpost'><ul class=\"socialwrap row\"><li class=\"iconOnly\"><a  rel='nofollow'  target='_blank'  title='Share this post : Another G.A.M.E.R.
